Serve Robotics operates a fleet of wheeled, sidewalk-based autonomous delivery robots on Uber Eats, with pilots at company headquarters able to take remote control when needed. The third generation robot, Gen3, was rolled out in October 2024 with an expanded cargo bin that holds four large pizzas, a 50 pound payload capacity, NVIDIA Jetson Orin onboard compute, and roughly double the speed and range of earlier models. Serve's delivery service first launched with Uber Eats in the Hollywood and West Hollywood neighborhoods of Los Angeles in June 2022 and has since grown into the largest sidewalk robot delivery fleet in the United States, spanning dozens of LA neighborhoods.
