What is the Atlas?
The current Atlas is Boston Dynamics' fully electric humanoid, unveiled on April 17, 2024 as the successor to the retired hydraulic Atlas platform. It stands 1.9 meters tall, weighs 90 kilograms, and has 56 degrees of freedom with fully rotational joints at the hip, waist, and neck. It remains in field testing with early adopter customers, including Hyundai, rather than general commercial sale.
